Trevin Peterson of Walton-Verona, the 2009 Class A State Cross Country Champion is out for the remainder of his senior cross country season.

As a new and different feature, we are looking to give you, our committed and informed subscribers, an in-depth analysis of the individual and team pictures in each class. We want to share some of our thinking with you, and get some feedback, so that you can get a better picture of the way the races are coming together at this point in the season. Hopefully, you will find the information interesting and even get a peek inside the working minds of Grooms and myself.

It was all Maddox Patterson on the girls' side today in the varsity race, but everything else was not quite what was expected coming in, making the outlook of the season just a little more intriguing as we see more of what the different classes have to show. Have a look at what was seen in the land of Goshen and what was learned after it was all said and done.

Say what you want about state championships, but there are only two kinds of people when it comes to that discussion: those with state championships and those without them. Right now, Trevin Peterson of Walton Verona (pictured) has an XC state title and this weekend will be his first major challenge of the year at the Rumble Through the Jungle.

Trevin Peterson (Walton-Verona) was a runaway winner in the 2009 Boys Class A State XC Championships, but some believe he isn't even the favorite anymore. We discuss this and much more inside out preview.

Trevin Peterson is a senior at Walton-Verona High School in northern Kentucky.  He ran through the competition in Class A all season long on his way to his first career Kentucky State Championship last November.  He is back with hopes of running successfully into December
