The 2010 Rumble Through the Jungle brought a change in focus for many of the athletes in the Louisville area this week. With many teams having athletes out for the ACT today, it became a race for place as a tougher course and a bit of rain slowed competitors on what turned out to be a great day for racing. As we round out Weekend #3 of the 2010 XC season, we want to recap the happenings first at the Rumble and then follow-up later with a full recap of the weekend’s events.
The girls and boys JV races kicked off the day at the Rumble and they were a good measuring tool for course speed and the team placing in the varsity races up front. The girls’ race was won by Christin Rucinski of DuPont Manual, who ran away from the rest of the race to win in a time of 21:11. Her time would have placed her 16th in the varsity race for a DuPont Manual team that looked very strong once again today.
