The 2026 KHSAA Class 1A Indoor State Track & Field Championships, presented by UKHCSM, delivered standout performances Tuesday at Norton Sports & Learning Center in Louisville.
Girls Team Race: Lexington Christian Dominates
Lexington Christian put together a commanding performance, rolling to the Class 1A title with 121 points - more than doubling second-place Bishop Brossart (56). Walden (44) and Beechwood (40) rounded out the top four.
LCA's dominance was built on depth and star power across sprints, distance, and relays.
Distance Supremacy

Kennedy Moughamian swept the 1600 (5:02.78) and 3200 (11:20.36).

Hadley Raisor captured the 800 in 2:14.70, with teammate Annie Sewell finishing runner-up.

Lexington Christian won both the 4x800 (10:24.52) and 4x400 (4:13.49) relays.
Sprint Strength

Anna Reese Hopper led a 1-2 finish in the 55 dash (7.52), followed by Mahari Crump (7.62).

LCA also won the 4x200 in 1:50.31.
Walden's Natalie Svidal was one of the meet's most versatile performers. She won the 55 hurdles (8.46), long jump (17-7), and triple jump (36-9), while adding a fourth-place finish in the 55 dash.
Beechwood's Caroline Nordman was electric in the sprints, winning the 400 in 57.00 and placing second in the 200 (26.32).
In the throws, Bishop Brossart's Ava Walters claimed the shot put title with a strong 42-10.25 mark.
Boys Team Race: Beechwood Takes Control
Beechwood captured the boys Class 1A championship with 88 points, outdistancing Bishop Brossart (49) and Owensboro Catholic (42). Lexington Christian (37) and Green County (34) completed the top five.
The Tigers leaned on elite sprinting and strong middle-distance depth.
Sprint Excellence

Tyler Fryman swept the 200 (22.12) and 400 (50.90).

Hudson Edwards won the 55 dash (6.62).

Beechwood claimed the 4x200 relay in a blazing 1:30.51 and added a runner-up finish in the 4x400 (3:31.96).
Distance Highlights

Gannon Parke won the 1600 (4:31.68) and later added third in the 3200.

Louisville Collegiate's James Gurley delivered one of the fastest performances of the day, winning the 3200 in 9:07.04.
Lexington Christian's Kyle Stickel edged Paris' Bruce Hayden in one of the closest finishes of the meet, winning the 800 by just .02 seconds (1:59.70 to 1:59.72).
