This Week's Nominees:
Kaden John, Frederick Douglass (Kentucky): Turned in a standout triple at the Tyson & Trinity Gay Invitational, sweeping wins in the 100 (10.48), 200 (21.86), and high jump (6-4). Breaking his PR of 10.71 set last March, he clocked the faster century while also taking third in the high jump field. The junior ranks as the top underclassman in Kentucky in both the 200 and high jump.
Miles Hayward, Tates Creek (Kentucky): Posted massive PRs in both throws at the Tyson & Trinity Gay Invitational, winning the shot put with 58-1.5 and the discus at 159-2. The shot put mark broke his previous best of 54-0.25 by over four feet, while his discus improved by more than 18 feet from his 140-9.5 PR set in March.
Isaiah Summers, Greenwood (Kentucky): Cleared a new PR of 6-8 to win the high jump at the Great Gator Invitational, improving two inches from his previous best of 6-6. Also competed in the triple jump at the Cougar Invitational, posting 43-3.75 for the win.
Xavier Richardson, Lafayette (Kentucky): Clocked 1:54.41 for second place in the 800 at the Tyson & Trinity Gay Invitational.
Malcolm Crow, Frederick Douglass (Kentucky): Launched a state-leading 23-0.5 to win the long jump at the Tyson & Trinity Gay Invitational, breaking his PR of 22-4.75 set last May. The junior also posted PRs in both sprints across two meets, running 11.28 in the 100 and 23.21 in the 200. His long jump mark leads all Kentucky jumpers and ranks him second among juniors statewide.
