For all Parents of Elementary School Kids grade level One thru Six. I made up a chart to show Outstanding times for young runners. If any runner exceeds (lower than) the time and distance, bring it up to the meet officials. The shorter distance is for grades one thru four. The longer distance is for grades four thru six. Elementary................Grades one thru six............Fast times Distance...................Boys Time.....................Girls Time 800M.......................3:05..........................3:30 1000m......................3:43..........................4:05 1200m......................4:15..........................4:40 1500m......................5:10..........................5:45 1600m......................5:30..........................6:00 Mile.......................5:33..........................6:04 2000m......................7:15..........................7:30 2500m......................8:40..........................9:35 3000m......................10:15.........................11:05 3200m......................11:00.........................11:55 2 mile.....................11:08.........................12:05 4000m......................13:80.........................15:45

I am suggesting we do three things after doing some other state research. 1. Give Jonathan a big hardy Thank-you for doing a wonderful job. Most of The other Webmasters are not as complete as Jonathan. 2. Kentucky seems to be one of the few states with odd distances. Example 1100m, 1400m, 1700m, 2400m. 3. All courses that have an even number distance, (example 1000m, 2000m, 3000m, 4000m, 5000m) Should be triple check by the coaches and officials. They should measure the course by CAR, WHEEL, and GPS, like they are doing at the State Meet.

@KYinNC If you've used a wheel or GPS, why in the world would you use a car? It's hard to think of a less accurate measuring device for this sort of thing.
