2023 KHSAA Class 2A State Championships
On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Thomas Nelson's Riku Sugie and Baili Hoten accomplished what has only been done 8 times previously: Win the boys and girls individual State Championships. In 1975, the KHSAA created the Girl's High School State Championship Meet, creating 48 years of history for the combined State Cross Country Championships. Each Championship consisted of 3 different classes making 144 different chances for Individual State Champions to come from both the boys and girls side from one school. In 2019, Madison Central's Conner O'Shea and Ciara O'Shea became the first sibling duo to win Individual State Championships at the same meet. This was also the last time Individual State Champions came from the same school on both the boys and girls side. Full Table below:
