Fresh off earning All-American Honors at New Balance Nationals Butler’s Tretez Kinnaird has won the 800m Run at the World Youth Track & Field Trials in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

  A four-man team of track and field Kentucky all-stars will compete at the World Youth Trials June 28-19 in Myrtle Beach, SC. All four athletes were 2011 KHSAA Track and Field Champions in their events and will attempt to become members of the 40-person Team US World Youth Championships squad which competes July 6-10 in Lille, France.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville track and field All-American Chinwe Okoro won the Nigerian shot put national title on Thursday at the 65th All Nigeria/Cross River State Athletics Championships at UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River, Nigeria.

DES MOINES, Iowa - University of Louisville track and field athletes have a habit of repeating, especially after winning one national title. On Friday, Matt Hughes raced to a personal best and stadium-best time in the 3,000m steeplechase to repeat as the national titlist at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

DES MOINES, Iowa.---Samford's Michael Seaman earned second-team All-America honors with his performance in the pole vault at the NCAA Championships Wednesday evening at Drake University.

  Coach Dan Chelstromhas coached in the small college ranks for past decade and has connections to Kentucky. Last year he assisted the Owensboro Catholic running programs and previously served as the head coach at Brescia University.   A published researcher (running economy) with a graduate background in human performance and applied exercise physiology, Chelstrom is meticulous in crafting training protocols and known for developing athletes and preparing them for State and National level meets.  

I was standing on the fence looking out at the last track I would view from the perspective of a high school athlete when the thought hit me, "I was surrounded." Now, you probably thought I was going to say something generic like "it was over" or "I wish I could do it all again", but to be completely honest, that was of secondary importance. 

Zac Garrard writes about his 1600m race at the Kentucky State Track Meet which included him falling with 20 meters to go.  He got up and was still able to cross the line for 3rd with a best time of 4:25.
