Meet Information
Youre team is invited to attend the 2010 Shelby County Invitational. Our course is all grass with rolling hills. We had an extremely competitive meet in 2009, and we hope that you will consider attending the 2010 edition.
Last year, we experienced a large jump in participation, especially in the middle school and elementary divisions. Frankly, we were a little under-prepared for the influx of participants, and we are taking steps this year to upgrade the logistics of the meet to manage it better. For those that attended last year, please note the changes below:
The JV races, which the last couple of years have been scheduled to be run combined but ended up being separated, have been scheduled as separate girls and boys races this year.
Middle school and elementary races will be limited to 7 runners per school, but we have added open races for middle school and elementary to accommodate the runners outside you top 7.
We will be running multiple chutes at the finish line to avoid backups.
The starting line will be widened.
We will use bib numbers to aide in more accurate results.
The team tent area will be move to the practice football field next to East Middle School to alleviate congestion on the course.
In addition, since the agriculture folks will be planting soybeans instead of corn this year, the course should be much more spectator friendly. The race schedule and entry fees are as follows:
9:00am Girls Varsity
9:45am Boys Varsity
10:30am Girls JV
11:15am Boys JV
12:30pm Girls MS
1:00pm Boys MS
1:30pm MS GIRLS Open
2:00pm MS BOYS Open
2:30pm Girls Elementary
2:45pm Boys Elementary
3:00pm Elementary GIRLS Open
3:15pm Elementary BOYS Open
Multiple teams may be entered. Schools may not enter the JV races unless they have entered a team in the corresponding varsity race.
