7th annual Kentucky-Indiana Border Clash

On behalf of Owensboro High School, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your team to the 7th annual Kentucky-Indiana Border Clash to be held on August 22nd, 2017 at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, KY. Our vision in planning and establishing this meet is simple: Kentucky and Indiana both have a long tradition of great teams/individuals that rarely race each other...we want to have an early season meet to bring them all together for a great competition! We feel this meet will be very competitive and loads of fun for your athletes. We hope that you will consider participating. This race will be chip timed by 40LB sledgehammer Productions out of Newburgh, IN. They will provide instantaneous printed results for all coaches. We are also expanding AWARDS for this years race!

TIME SCHEDULE
Note: Times listed are CST.
5:15 pm: Coaches Meeting
5:35 pm: Women's Teams Called to Starting Line
5:40 pm : Women's Race Begins (5,000 Meters)*
6:10 pm : Men's Teams Called to the Starting Line
6:20 pm: Men's Race Begins (5,000 Meters)*
*The KHSAA has regulations regarding the heat index. If the heat index is too great, we will switch each race to 4,000 meters in duration. This will be discussed at the Coaches Meeting and if a change is to take effect, it will be announced at that time.
ENTRY GUIDELINES
There will be no JV or Reserve race. Each team may enter as many athletes as they would like. Entries are to be submitted online through mile split.
ENTRY FEE
$80.00 per team (men's are women's teams are considered separate). Make checks out to OHS Cross-Country. Entry fee checks are due by Thursday, August 18th and should be mailed to:

MEET CONTRACT
If your school requires us to submit to you a meet contract, please contact us and we will be glad to provide this for you.
SCORING GUIDELINES
The KY-IN Border Clash will be scored with normal cross-country scoring to determine an overall team champion. The top five runners from each team score with the sixth runner to determine any tie-breakers.
AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to the top 40 runners in each race. Plaques will awarded to the overall boys/girls champion. Top four teams will also receive team trophies.
VENDORS
Concessions and KY-IN Border Clash t-shirts will be available for purchase for all athletes, coaches and spectators. Tshirts will be provided by Squares of Time. Athletes can pick the color and style of shirt to put the design on.
ATHLETIC TRAINER
A certified athletic trainer will be on site before and during the meet for any needs that may arise.
