For 2013 there will be two significant changes to the entry system for the Middle School State Meet.
1. All schools are still permitted one entry per event, but now schools will now be allowed multiple (unlimited) entries in all but the relay events provided ALL entries from the school meet the extra entry standard shown below, very similar to how KHSAA does for High School. Only the school's top finisher will score for the team but the others are permitted to compete for individual awards. Below are those standards. You can expect that these standards will continue to be adjusted for future years based on previous years performances.

2. For 2013, recommended minimum standards are being put in place. If your athlete, or athletes in the case of relays, have not met these standards we STRONGLY recommend you NOT enter them. These are recommended standards for 2013 recognizing that there may be rare cases where an athlete has not met the minimum due to special circumstances but the coach feels strongly that they can compete at a high level. These cases should be quite rare and if we find that coaches ignore the standards then they will become mandatory for future years. These standards will also be adjusted for future years based on previous years performances.
