3rd Annual KYtrackXC.com Indoor Awards for Sprinter of the Year, Distance Runner of the Year, and Field Event Athlete of the Year.  The following are the 2008 Girls Winners.  Congratulations to all the athletes who competed the 2008 Indoor Track Season.

Fulton County High School's Sharika Smith has decided to sign with Western Kentucky University on a Full Scholarship to run Track & Field. Smith is a 12 x KY Class A State Champion in 5 events and KY State Record Holder in the Triple Jump & 200m Dash.

Fulton County senior Sharika Smith won the AAU Junior Games National title in the Triple Jump with a personal best of 40-00. 

KYtrackXC.com just finished its third season covering Kentucky high school track and field, which brings the 3rd Annual KYtrackXC.com Outdoor Awards.  As with previous years, the awards will be presented in the categories of Sprinter of the Year, Distance Runner of the Year, and Field Event Athlete of the Year.  These awards are regardless of school classification.  Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in track and field this year. 

Video Interview with Fulton County junior Sharika Smith. She won four state titles over the weekend in the 100m, 200m, Long Jump, and Triple Jump. She also broke her own Overall State Record in the Triple Jump with a leap of 39-03 and beat the Class A 200m Dash record with a time 24.82.

Bishop Brossart has a commanding 48-22 lead over Frankfort after Day One's action at the Boys Class A State Meet.  Bardstown senior Michael Seaman broke the Class A Pole Vault record of 14-06 with a vault of 14-07.  St. Henry and Bishop Brossart are at the top of the leader board in girls action.

Rain and cold weather are forecast to wreck havoc on meets across the state tomorrow.  This is a look at the Taco Bell Classic, Lake Cumberland Classic, Invitational of the South, and the Commodore Classic.

Top Kentucky Track Athletes have some great performances at the USATF Junior Olympics including one overall winner, a runner-up finish, and several other top 10 marks.

Just looking at the results shows some great performances for the Class A State Meet on Friday and Saturday.

Invitational of the South was held Saturday at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky. The meet was won by the boys and girls of Paducah Tilghman High School.

KYtrackXC.com has presented the following awards to the top performers for the 2005 Kentucky Track season. These awards are based on the results from the season as a whole not just the state meet. The awards are for all classes and include Distance Runner of the Year, Sprinter of the Year, and Field Event Athlete of the Year. Congratulations to these athletes for their outstanding performances this track season.

Two great days of running, throwing, and jumping just occurred in Lexington. Because of circumstances out of my control, I was only able to personally attend the AAA races on Saturday. I myself have a distance background and mostly enjoy the 800 and above. But I was impressed with all the races I was able to see. Read on for my personal commentary and thoughts heard from others in the events I was unable to see.
