Lexington Catholic Girls Capture Team Championship
Lexington Catholic put together one of the most complete team performances of the meet, scoring 106 points to secure the Class 2A girls title. The Knights used a balanced attack across sprints, relays, and distance events to hold off Calloway County Lakers early points gained in the meet. Calloway finished runner-up with 91.5 points, while Boyle County rounded out the top three with 60.5 points.
A major factor in the Knights' victory was Joanna Bryant, who delivered a stellar double on the track. Bryant won the 400m (57.91) and returned to claim the 200m title (25.99) while also contributing to Lexington Catholic's victorious 4x400 relay (4:07.49) and 4x200 relay (1:48.93) squads.
In the distance events, Abigail Turner added valuable points with a win in the 1600m (5:03.54) and a third-place finish in the 800m (2:22.30).
Calloway County pushed the team race throughout the meet behind a huge all-around performance from Layla Green. Green won the 55m hurdles (8.67), long jump (17-0.25), and high jump (5-6.5) to lead one of the top individual performances from all the KHSAA Indoor Championships. Her high jump mark set a new KHSAA Indoor State Record.
Another standout moment came in the 3200m, where Isabella Day (Larue County) delivered a dominant run of 10:47.98 to claim the state title.
Bourbon County also had a strong day highlighted by Marleigh Estes, who won the 800m (2:17.96) and added points in the hurdles and high jump.
