Girls 4x800 Meter Relay
Assumption is the heavy favorite here, entering with a 9:22.19. They are chasing their own State and 3A record of 9:21.50 set just last year. Their squad features Kinsley Yaden, Caitlin Perkins, Maura Ferguson, and Mabel George. North Oldham (led by Millie Huang and Grace Horan) and Conner (led by Avery Vanlandingham and Bella Rechtin) will look to keep the pace honest in the opening event.
Boys 4x800 Meter Relay
Girls 4x200 Meter Relay
Male High School owns the 1:40.38 State Record and enters as the top seed at 1:41.55. The team of Grace Bethel, RaKhyla Clayton, Layla Angelini, and Jaliyah Taylor looks nearly untouchable. Tates Creek (led by Joelle Tshimbombo and Romie Smith) and Oldham County (led by Juliann Foushee and Aubrelle Neal) will battle for the remaining podium spots.
Boys 4x200 Meter Relay
Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP) leads the field with a 1:29.91, just shy of the 1:28.55 State Record. The duo of Kevondre Ballard and Calvon Mitchell provides elite speed. Male (with Elijah Thompson and Elijah Cooper) and North Oldham (with Isaac Cameron and Camden Killian) are the primary threats in what should be a blanket finish.
Girls 4x400 Meter RelayState Record: 3:59.83 - Fern Creek 3A Record: 3:59.83 - Fern Creek
Oldham County holds the top seed at 4:07.62, led by Juliann Foushee and Olivia Jasper. They are chasing the 3:59.83 State Record. Assumption and North Oldham (featuring Madeleine Muschinski and Emma Quinton) are separated by less than two seconds, ensuring a dramatic final relay.
Boys 4x400 Meter Relay
St. Xavier enters as the #1 seed with a 3:26.61, narrowly missing the 3:25.95 State Record. Their squad features William Zutterman and Joseph Nalley. They face stiff competition from Great Crossing (led by Joshua Holt-Smith and Ray Enwa) and a deep Male team.

Records to Watch
The narrative starts with Grace Bethel of Male. She isn't just looking to win; she's looking to redefine what's possible. In the 55m dash, her seed time of 6.90 is a staggering eight-hundredths of a second faster than the 6.98 State Record. She doubles down in the 200m dash, where her 23.72 sits comfortably ahead of the 24.06 all-time mark. On the boys' side, Kaden John from Frederick Douglass is the man of the hour, entering with a 6.40 that sneaks past the current 6.43 State Record set just last year.
The 400m dash is shaping up to be a historic dogfight. We have three athletes: Nehemiah Kiser (Male) at 48.84, Luke Roner (South Warren) at 48.93, and Ray Enwa (Great Crossing) at 49.01, who are all seeded faster than the 49.07 State Record. Meanwhile, in the 800m, Lafayette's Xavier Richardson is in a league of his own. His 1:52.69 seed is nearly a full second faster than the 1:53.58 State Record, suggesting he might be running against the clock more than the field.
Perhaps the most "stunning" number on the entry list belongs to the Trinity (Louisville) boys' 4x800 relay team. The current State Record is a formidable 7:58.55, but the Shamrocks, who are powered by Jake Hagan, Ayden Taylor, Aidan Albritton, and Sullivan Yaden, have posted a 7:52.06. Shaving six seconds off a state record in a relay is almost unheard of, making them a "must-watch" for the morning session.
In the field, gravity seems to be merely a suggestion for Alexis Howard of Simon Kenton. She is the top seed in both the Long Jump (18-10.75) and the Triple Jump (37-10.00), both of which exceed the standing State Records of 18-04.50 and 37-06.50, respectively.
The Boys' Triple Jump is equally electric. Malcolm Crow of Frederick Douglass has uncorked a 47-11.25, while Ibrahim Soumare of Fern Creek sits right behind him at 47-06.25. Both boys are roughly two feet beyond the current 45-07.50 State Record. Finally, Sean Anderson (Male) rounds out the record-watch in the Long Jump, where his 22-06.25 puts him exactly one inch past the 22-05.25 all-time mark.

Team Battle
The team title race at the Norton Sports & Learning Center won't just be decided by who is the fastest-it will be decided by who is the deepest. In a meet where a single dropped baton or a missed high jump opening height can swing 10 points, the "blue blood" programs of Kentucky track and field are bracing for a high-stakes chess match.
Girls Team Preview
The girls' championship is shaping up to be a collision between the sprint-heavy roster of Male High School and the balanced, distance-oriented depth of North Oldham and Oldham County.
North Oldham enters as the statistical favorite, projected to rack up 64 points. Their path to the trophy is paved with versatility. Sophia Shenk is a scoring machine, expected to hunt for titles in the hurdles and both horizontal jumps, while Elle Cargould anchors a distance squad that could potentially sweep the podium in the 1600m and 3200m alongside Grace Horan.
However, they cannot afford a single mistake, because Male is lurking with 56 projected points. Male's strategy is simple: total domination of the shortest races. With Grace Bethel and Jaliyah Taylor potentially going 1-2 in both the 55m and 200m, they could secure 36 points from just two events.
Oldham County sits right in the middle of this tug-of-war with 54 points. They rely on the "Iron Woman" performance of Olivia Jasper, who is the favorite in the 400m and a top contender in the 200m and relays. If Aubrelle Neal can pull off an upset in the High Jump or Hurdles, the Lady Colonels could easily leapfrog both Male and North Oldham for the top spot.
Boys Team Preview
On the boys' side, the narrative is a classic battle of "how you score your points." Male High School holds the pole position with 56 projected points, but their lead is precarious.
Male's championship hopes rest on the shoulders of Nehemiah Kiser in the 400m/800m and Sean Anderson in the Long Jump. They are built for the "big win," looking to take 10 points at a time in explosive events.
Chasing them is the most dangerous sprint crew in the state: Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP). With 42 projected points, PRP is top-heavy with Ravon Lee and Kevondre Ballard. If they can secure the 4x200 relay title and put two men on the podium in the 200m dash, they will put immense pressure on Male heading into the final relays.
Meanwhile, Trinity (Louisville) is playing the long game. With 40 projected points, they are essentially the masters of the "metric mile." If Ayden Taylor, Jake Hagan, and Aidan Albritton execute their 4x800 and 1600m plans, Trinity will have a massive lead early in the meet. The question for the Shamrocks is whether they have enough "fill-in" points in the field events to hold off a late-day charge from the sprinters of Male and PRP.
Don't count out St. Xavier (34 points) or Frederick Douglass (30 points). St. X is the 4x400 favorite and always finds a way to put "points on the board" in the distance events and throws with Donovan Washer and Korey Tutt Jr. For Douglass, Kaden John and Malcolm Crow are essentially guaranteed 20 points between the 55m and Triple Jump; if their supporting cast steps up, they could easily spoil the party for the Louisville giants.
