Thomas Nelson rising senior Riku Sugie won the 5K title at Nike Outdoor Nationals at historic Hayward Field in Oregon this past weekend. He ran a 14:28.63 to win by 3 seconds. This time now sits as the fastest time by a Kentucky HS runner beating his former teammate Lane Hoyes time of 14:33.68.
He also ran a PR of 4:11.12 to finish 15th in the One Mile Run which puts him at 7th All-Time in Kentucky.
North Oldham's Adam Patel finished 15th overall with a 14:57.63 joining the sub 15 club for the first time.
