Morgan County's Kailee Perry has already started 2019 off well with a huge win at the Wildcat Classic in the mile.
As we embark on the outdoor track and field season, we are going to break down all 14 individual events for the boys and girls across the state. Not only will you find the overall rankings, but also who leads each of the three classifications (A, AA, & AAA) but also who are the top athletes in each graduating class (2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022). Can you believe it? Outdoor season is coming soon!
The class of 2019 has some serious power, but that does not mean that the youth movement isn't ready in waiting. Led by Kailee Perry, Jenna Strange, and Katy Chapman, the 1600m race has the potential to be dominated by seniors. However, if you look at the last cross country season, all three classes were won by underclassmen. Anna Rupp (Class of 2022), Maggie Schroeder (Class of 2021) and Ciara O'Shea (Class of 2023) took the three individual cross country titles. Can that translate over to the oval at a shorter distance? Keep an eye on what goes down at this distance!
