Cross Country is back and in full force. This past Saturday, I was at the Tiger Run and it is funny how you can have all of these great high school runners there, but the best race of the day ends up being the middle school girls showdown which was a battle to the line. Middle School runners are vital to the future and in the current to their own teams and many high school teams across the state. Each week, KYtrackXC.com will have a Middle School Focus to highlight some of the key runners and teams from across the state.

If you're a high school runner in the Louisville area, what was the only thing on your mind today? Well, if the answer wasn't practice, then it was Tiger Run. For those of you who have never run this race before, it is an invitational that marks the beginning of the season for many area teams. It takes place annually at the River Road Country Club and is hosted by St. Xavier. Assumption's runners participated in the varsity and the JV 5K meets, as there was no meet specifically for ninth grade girls.
