Boys 4x800m Relay Preview: Using 2013 800m Times Jonathan Grooms Mar 7, 2014

Below you will find the 800m times from 2013 scored like an XC race with only 4 scorers from each team.  This is not exact science here, but it gives a very good idea of what to look out for in the 4x800m Relay this spring.  The scoring part of the far side does not help as much as the Total Time line in the middle.

Greater Louisville Classic High School Preview Jonathan Grooms Sep 28, 2012

The Greater Louisville Classic is held on the same course as the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational, but they are two totally different meets each year.  Trinity/Valkyrie brings an intense team battle that is more regionally based (KY, IN, OH) with most of the top Louisville schools in attendance, whereas Greater Louisville brings in more depth from throughout the state of Kentucky giving teams from the far west (Paducah area) a chance to compete against teams from the north and areas right outside of Louisville.

Shelby County Invite Recap: Karas 18:35, Gregory Wins Tyler Karnes Sep 1, 2012

With the inland rains of hurricane Isaac looming over the Midwest, and already causing havoc for Cross Country in the Western portion of Kentucky, I was wondering how much of a factor the weather was going to play into today’s race. However, as I stepped out of my car and onto the course, the sun was covered by non-threatening clouds and the temperature was hanging around the upper 70s, a beautiful day for racing.

2012 XC: Top 3 Returning A/AA/AAA Girls Teams by Time Jonathan Grooms Jun 29, 2012

Below are the top three teams from each class based on returning times from the 2011 Cross Country Season.  These are not official rankings as these do not take into account variety of course conditions, weather, and/or difficulty.  No new runners are taken into account.  These are just for fun. Power 10 Jonathan Grooms Sep 30, 2011 Power 10 – September 30, 2011 These are the top best teams and individuals in the state of Kentucky regardless of school classification. These are not your typical rankings in the sense because without classes the KY State Meet would have more depth so a team’s 5th place runner in Class AA who normally scores well enough with a 18:00 is suddenly too far back to matter in a one class system.  The need for top runner is similar, that is obvious it is just on an exaggerated scale. 9/7/11 State Cross Country Rankings Jonathan Grooms Sep 7, 2011 is pleased to present the first set of Kentucky State Cross Country Rankings.  These are based on meets held up to September 6, 2011.  Each class rankings contain a top 10 teams and the top 20 individuals.  The next set will be out in two weeks.

In the recent Pre-Season Class AA State Rankings, Edmonson County was ranked #1 with defending champion, North Oldham sitting at #2.  Both of these teams could make an early argument that they are #1, but the early edge goes to the Edmonson County.  Lexington Catholic looks to be just a piece away from being right there with Edmonson and North Oldham. 5-9-11 State Class Team and Top 8 Individual Rankings Jonathan Grooms May 11, 2011
