Below you will find the 800m times from 2013 scored like an XC race with only 4 scorers from each team. This is not exact science here, but it gives a very good idea of what to look out for in the 4x800m Relay this spring. The scoring part of the far side does not help as much as the Total Time line in the middle.

The weather today was perfect for racing: The temperature was cool, without being cold; I would guess around mid-60’s and sunny for the girls varsity race. A light wind was blowing across the course.

This past weekend was strange, there were a ton of meets but nothing was really huge. There were some quality match-ups but even that was hard to decipher as many schools were missing runners. Fall break is part of it, minor injuries, and just simply being tired from all the racing over the last seven weeks. Here are some of the things that stuck out to me from this past week.

Highlands Head Coach Brian Alessandro blogs about "Building a Program"
As I was walking out of my dorm at 7:50 to head north to the Grant County Invitational, I was not anticipating a particularly pleasant day out on the course for myself, or any of the athletes, coaches, or spectators, for that matter. The rain was coming down at a steady pace and by the looks of the puddles forming on the road, had been raining for several hours.
Fitting in with the same pattern of the EG Plummer Invitational the Grant County Invitational looks like it is following in the footsteps of the Ryle Invitational. The question is how will the ACT affect the attendance of some of the top runners.
A look at what and who stuck out over the last week in Kentucky Middle School action.
26 Insights into Week 2 of the XC Season
The Ryle Invitational probably has the most depth out of all the meets being held in Kentucky this weekend. Pretty much all of the best teams and runners in northern Kentucky will be there. Last year, the meet was cancelled due to excessive heat before the Varsity races began and this year rain could be a problem. Hopefully it goes off because it should be a good one.
