Meet Information

Coaches, I am proud to invite you to the 27th annual Eastern Relays Track meet. The Eastern Relays draws strong teams and individuals from KY, IN, OH, TN, WV, and IL. I invite you to consider bringing your best to the University of Louisville Cardinal Park for a great meet.

Please note the full meet information to understand all meet instructions. This is a large meet and it is important that all teams, coaches, and athletes understand procedures so that it will go smoothly.

Highlights from the 2011 Eastern Relays:
Emma Brink highlighted the girls distance races running 4:54 & 11:00 to win the 1600m and 3200m races. She led Danielle Pfeifer under 5:00 and a total of 7 ladies at 5:20 or faster. The 3200m saw a tight race with 3 girls from 11:00 to 11:03 and 7 at 11:30 or faster.
Sophomore Brock Baker of Oakland (TN) was the mens distance king winning the 1600m and 3200m. The deep 3200m field ran 9:25, 9:28 at the front with 9 men under 10 minutes. The boys 1600m saw 10 under 4:30 with the leaders battling to a 4:18 photo finish between Baker and Jacob Thomson (2 of the nations best sophomores).
Skyler Willis of Withrow (OH) ran 56.13 for 400m to lead 3 under 1:00 and 7 under 1:01 including 4 freshmen. Skyler also leaped to victory in the HJ at 56 leading 5 over 5.
In the throws, Males Reddrick Blakemore led 6 men to 150+ in the discus with his toss of 17205
On the HJ apron 2 men cleared 66 with junior Donovan Halsel edging fellow junior Tyler Bray on misses. Nine men cleared 6 feet.
McAuleys 12:20 DMR was one of the nations best, also leading Manuals ladies under 12:30.

Friday

**Other special events may be added Friday at meet managements discretion.

There are no limits on entry for Fridays Open events (100m, 1600m), just please be reasonable.

Events at DuPont Manual- Non-scoring, no awards, hand-timed
Manuals track is one city block from Cardinal Park and they have volunteered to include non-scoring, no award events for athletes who did not qualify for the invitational portion of the meet. All races at Manual will be on a fixed time schedule so athletes and coaches at UofL can plan accordingly. The events are 3200m, 400m, and 800m. The schedule will be communicated before the meet. These events, along with Fridays open events will provide an opportunity for non-qualifiers, relay legs, etc. to be a part of the meet.

Track Events: All track events are timed finals.

Field Events: Shot put, discus, long jump, and triple jump will be contested with 3 jumps/throws, with the top 9 athletes advancing to finals. During the preliminary round, all marks will be measured in the first round. During the second and third rounds only marks that exceed the entry standard will be measured. All marks will be measured in the final.

For the High Jump and Pole Vault the starting height will begin at the entry standard.

Entry Fees
Make all checks payable to Eastern High School
Early Entry Fee (must be at Eastern by April 1st). $85 per boys team entered, $85 per girls team entered
Early Individual Entry Fee (must be at Eastern by April 1st). $15 per individual

Entry Fee (deadline for payment is April 20th). $100 per boys team entered, $100 per girls team entered
Individual Entry Fee (deadline for payment is April 20th). $20 per individual
There will be no refunds after payments are made. Consider the entry guidelines before entry.
Any teams not paid in full and entered by April 23rd will pay a $25 late fee.

Awards for First, Second, and Third Overall Team. Awards for the top 8 finishers in each individual event.

Entry Standards
All entries must be submitted electronically. Details about entries will be sent out at a later date,

Teams may enter all athletes who meet the entry marks, and all may score. Entry times should be based on current season performance, not lifetime best or predicted marks.

Only athletes who have achieved the entry standard in 2012 should be entered; those not meeting the mark will not be allowed to compete (if there is an unusual exception for a highly qualified individual please communicate in advance). Fridays events are open to all performers, no qualifying standards. All teams may enter each relay event.

Note that none of the events on Friday night (except the 3200m) have an entry standard, and each team is allowed to enter a relay in every relay event.

An athlete may compete in a maximum of 4 events total between Friday and Saturday.

Entry deadline
Entries should be received by Monday April 23, 2012. Any entries received after the deadline will be charged an additional $25 fee. All athletes are assigned a unique competitor number. There will be a $5 fee for athletes that are not included in the entries that need to be assigned a competitor number on meet day.
