The Cross Country teams from Elizabethtown, John Hardin, Meade County, and North Hardin would like to invite your team to the 9th annual Central Kentucky Run for the Gold Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, August 20, 2022. This year will be the first year the race will be chip timed. We will also be giving a WWE style Championship Belt to the individual male and female varsity winners!

Our course is located at the exceptional Elizabethtown Sports Park in Elizabethtown, Ky. We will be hosting events ranging from Elementary through Varsity, with the JV and Varsity races in the evening under the lights. Please consider joining us on this fast and flat course. This year we are continuing an Open Race 5K. It is open free of charge to coaches, former runners, friends, and family of cross country.

There will be a limit of 7 runners in the varsity races. Only 1 team entry is permitted in the varsity races. There will be unlimited entries in the PS, ES, MS, FR, and JV races. There is no online entry for the Open Race. Just show and be ready to race!

Awards

Team trophies will be awarded to the top 2 teams in each race as well as individual medals to the top 10 finishers. The amount of awards may change depending on the size of the meet. Top 3 finishers in the Open Race will also receive a medal. This year will be presenting a Championship Belt to the individual winners of the boys and girls varsity races! This will be a WWE style belt!

Directions to the Elizabethtown Sports Park

Elizabethtown is located at the intersection of I-65, the Bluegrass Parkway, and the Western Kentucky Parkway, at exit 94 on I-65.

The Entrance to the park is located at 1401 West Park Road. Please note that this is a newer section of West Park Road and MAY NOT show up on all GPS and navigation systems. Here are the driving directions:

From I-65 headed South, take exit 94, stay right onto Mulberry/US 62.

From I-65 headed North, take exit 94, turn left at the top of the ramp onto Mulberry/US 62.

From the Bluegrass Parkway, at the end of the parkway, take I-65 North, stay right onto the Exit 94 ramp, turn left at the top of the ramp onto Mulberry/US 62.

Once on Mulberry/US 62: Follow Mulberry/US 62 through downtown, travel approx. 5 miles (you'll pass Police Station and Central Hardin High School)

Just past a McDonald's on the right, turn RIGHT onto Ring Road (Hwy 3005)

Just past Flink Ink on the right, turn RIGHT onto West Park Road at the Elizabethtown Sports Park Column

Follow West Park to the main entrance, which will be on the LEFT (If you get to Nolin/RECC or the stoplight at St.John Road/Hwy 1357, you passed West Park Road.)

To help pay for the use of the Elizabethtown Sports Park, there will be a $5.00 charge per car.
