Race Information

Thank you for participating this year, 2019 in the 64th Trinity Invitational and the 22nd Valkyrie Invitational. The CC Invite is one of the largest Invitationals in the region because of your participation. We hope you enjoy the Tom Sawyer State Park (home of the 2017 NCAA National Championships), as much as we do!!

Meet/Race Schedule

Saturday, September 21st

8:40am           Junior/Senior Boys 5K - Unlimited

9:20am           Junior/Senior Girls 5K - Unlimited

10:00am         Seeded Boys 5K - 10 entries

10:30am        Seeded Girls 5K - 10 entries

11:00am        Varsity Boys 5K - 10 entries

11:30am         Varsity Girls 5K - 10 entries

12:00pm         Freshman/Sophomore Boys 4K - Unlimited

12:30 pm         Freshman/Sophomore Girls 4K - Unlimited

Awards will be rolling approximately 45 minutes after the completion of each race, throughout the day.

Seeded Race

The seeded race for 2018 was a limited field including the top programs from six different states. New in 2019, there will be reserved spots in the seeded race for the top Kentucky teams registered should that team wish to be included in the seeded division.

Entry Fees

Varsity/Seeded Race: $80 per gender. Individuals: $10

Junior/Senior Race: $60 per gender. Individuals: $10

Freshman/Sophomore Race$60 per gender. Individuals: $10

Team Spaghetti Dinner

Friday night at 6:00 at Trinity High School, we invite your team to a spaghetti dinner. Cost is $10 per person. Trinity is very close to Seneca Park which is perfect for a run the night before. Contact Chris Hawboldt for RSVP at kymilesplit@gmail.com.

Important - On Friday evenings, we've had several Traffic concerns - Please consider arriving early.

Alternate directions to Westport Road congestion

LaGrange Road (coming from the direction of Lyndon):

  • Follow LaGrange Road from Lyndon past the Hurstbourne Lane overpass.
  • Turn left on Lakeland Road (immediately after passing Central State Hospital on the left).
  • Follow Lakeland Road through a 90 degree right turn.
  • Turn left on Frey's Hill Road (the first left after going through 90 degree right turn on Lakeland).
  • E.P. Sawyer Park parking entrance is the first left from Frey's Hill Road.

Park Road (coming from Anchorage):

  • Follow Park Road from Anchorage toward Central State Hospital
  • Turn right on Lakeland Road (immediately before Central State Hospital on the right).
  • Follow Lakeland Road through a 90 degree right turn.
  • Turn left on Frey's Hill Road (the first left after going through 90 degree right turn on Lakeland).
  • E.P. Sawyer Park parking entrance is the first left from Frey's Hill Road.

Evergreen Road (coming from Middletown):

  • Turn North (toward Anchorage) on Evergreen Road from Shelbyville Road.
  • Remain on Evergreen Road until it intersects and turns left onto Lakeland Road.
  • Follow Lakeland Road to until Frey's Hill Road intersects from the left.
  • Turn right on Frey's Hill Road.
  • E.P. Sawyer Park parking entrance is the first left from Frey's Hill Road.

Parking Information

Coaches with tents and equipment: 

Proceed to Gate 1 on the south side of the race courses, using the park entrance at the BMX and softball complexes. Identify yourself to the police officers and volunteers as a coach and you will be directed to park in the BMX lot or softball lot where it is easier to get your equipment on site.



All Other Auto Parking and DropOffs:

All cars carrying runners, spectators and volunteers, whether coming from Westport Road in the north or from Lakeland Road in the south will initially be directed to park in the grass parking area at Gate1 on the south side of the race courses, which is at the park entrance from Frey's Hill Road that leads to the BMX and softball complexes. Only after that lot is filled will the park's main paved lot at Gate 2 on the north side of the race courses be opened to permit parking. Please follow the direction of police officers and volunteers directing traffic. Drivers who are dropping off passengers and not parking must still proceed into a parking lot to stop and drop off the passengers before exiting the lot.



Handicapped Parking:

All cars with a handicapped rider should proceed to Gate 1 on the south side of the race courses where you will be directed to the handicapped lot in the softball complex.



Bus Parking:

All team buses will park in the paved lot at the softball complex inside Gate 1 on the south side of the race courses near the start line. Whether coming from Westport Road in the north or Lakeland Road in the south all buses should take the park entrance from Frey's Hill Road that leads to the BMX and softball complexes.
