Recent decisions by the Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) system and the Louisville Catholic Schools Athletic Association (CSAA) have greatly impacted the Friday portion of the 2020 Trinity Invitational / Valkyrie Invitational.
On Monday, August 24^th, the JCPS School Board voted to postpone the start of Middle & Elementary School fall sports to September 28^th. On Wednesday, August 19^th, the CSAA Board of Directors voted to cancel all fall sports for Catholic Grade Schools in Louisville.
The teams from these two school systems comprise nearly the entire portion of the race field on Friday.Therefore, all races on Friday are now cancelled.It is likely these races will not be rescheduled for a later date.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. Trinity High School and Sacred Heart Academy are thankful for your support of this long-standing event.

Until further notice, Kentucky high schools are only permitted to compete against schools located in Kentucky or located in a county that directly borders KENTUCKY. These strategies are being implemented in an effort to address social distancing and combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are still awaiting details from the Governor, KHSAA, Board of Education, and Health Department. These details could greatly change the format of the event as it relates to number of races, entries, and fans. These changes could change the event late in the process.

Race Information

Thank you for participating this year, 2020 in the 65th Trinity Invitational and the 23rd Valkyrie Invitational. The CC Invite is one of the largest Invitationals in the region because of your participation. We hope you enjoy the Tom Sawyer State Park (home of the 2017 NCAA National Championships), as much as we do!!

5:00 PM 7th - 8th Grade Girls 4K - 20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

5:20 PM 7th - 8th Grade Boys 4K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

5:40 PM 5th - 6th Grade Girls 3K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

6:00 PM 5th - 6th Grade Boys 3K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

6:20 PM 3rd - 4th Grade Girls 2K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

6:40 PM 3rd - 4th Grade Boys 2K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

7:00 PM Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Girls 1K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

7:05 PM Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Boys 1K -20 per team (B and C teams permitted)

7/8th Grade, 5/6th Grade, & 3/4th Grade Awards:

Trophies: Top 3 school teams (club teams are not eligible for team awards)

Medals: Top 20 individuals in each division

K/2nd Grade Awards:

All participants receive a ribbon and candy!

$50 per gender per team per race with a $250 maximum per team

Important- On Friday evenings, we've had several Traffic concerns - Please consider arriving early.

Alternate directions to Westport Road congestion

LaGrange Road (coming from the direction of Lyndon):

Follow LaGrange Road from Lyndon past the Hurstbourne Lane overpass.
Turn left on Lakeland Road (immediately after passing Central State Hospital on the left).
Follow Lakeland Road through a 90 degree right turn.
Turn left on Frey's Hill Road (the first left after going through 90 degree right turn on Lakeland).
E.P. Sawyer Park parking entrance is the first left from Frey's Hill Road.

Park Road (coming from Anchorage):

Follow Park Road from Anchorage toward Central State Hospital
Turn right on Lakeland Road (immediately before Central State Hospital on the right).
Follow Lakeland Road through a 90 degree right turn.
Turn left on Frey's Hill Road (the first left after going through 90 degree right turn on Lakeland).
E.P. Sawyer Park parking entrance is the first left from Frey's Hill Road.

Evergreen Road (coming from Middletown):

Turn North (toward Anchorage) on Evergreen Road from Shelbyville Road.
Remain on Evergreen Road until it intersects and turns left onto Lakeland Road.
Follow Lakeland Road to until Frey's Hill Road intersects from the left.
Turn right on Frey's Hill Road.
E.P. Sawyer Park parking entrance is the first left from Frey's Hill Road.

Parking Information

Coaches with tents and equipment:

Proceed to Gate 1 on the south side of the race courses, using the park entrance at the BMX and softball complexes. Identify yourself to the police officers and volunteers as a coach and you will be directed to park in the BMX lot or softball lot where it is easier to get your equipment on site.

All Other Auto Parking and DropOffs:

All cars carrying runners, spectators and volunteers, whether coming from Westport Road in the north or from Lakeland Road in the south will initially be directed to park in the grass parking area at Gate1 on the south side of the race courses, which is at the park entrance from Frey's Hill Road that leads to the BMX and softball complexes. Only after that lot is filled will the park's main paved lot at Gate 2 on the north side of the race courses be opened to permit parking. Please follow the direction of police officers and volunteers directing traffic. Drivers who are dropping off passengers and not parking must still proceed into a parking lot to stop and drop off the passengers before exiting the lot.

Handicapped Parking:

All cars with a handicapped rider should proceed to Gate 1 on the south side of the race courses where you will be directed to the handicapped lot in the softball complex.

Bus Parking:

All team buses will park in the paved lot at the softball complex inside Gate 1 on the south side of the race courses near the start line. Whether coming from Westport Road in the north or Lakeland Road in the south all buses should take the park entrance from Frey's Hill Road that leads to the BMX and softball complexes.
