Meet Information
Trimble County Cross Country Backwoods Invitational
Coaches, we invite you to bring your teams out to the 2017 edition of our invitational. We have been working endlessly to run one of the best meets in the state and have taken no short cuts when it comes to meet quality. After getting some feedback last year, we have made the following improvements to the 2017 meet.
Improvements to the 2017 meet:
Straighter and longer finish and chute
Finish banner for better finish line visibility
Live race updates/commentary on the loud speakers
Custom full size Louisville Slugger bats to team champions
Deeper individual awards for all races
More cooling pools and tents for overheated athletes
Athletes run the short lap first. This should get rid of athlete overlap.
Races have been moved up to avoid the heat
When: Saturday August 26th, 2017
Varsity Boys 5k: 9:00am
Varsity Girls 5k: 9:45am (Awards ceremony following girls 5k)
Middle School/Elementary Boys 3k: 10:45am
Middle School/Elementary Girls 3k: 11:15am (Awards ceremony following girls 3k)
Course: The course we have at the Trimble County park is a true cross country course. We have flat grass sections, hills, a small creek crossing, and a long woods section offering heavy shade. Both races start on the youth football field. After a 400-yard section on the fields, the course heads through the woods as it makes its way to the back of the park. This course features a long loop and short loop. 5k runners will complete the short loop first, come by the finish, and then head out for the long loop. 3k runners will complete the long loop only. This course is marked very well.
Our course is EXTREMELY spectator friendly allowing parents and coaches to see about 2/3 of the race from the tent area.
We will once again be striving to have each race course measured as accurately as possible.
Entry: All entries will be done on Ky-Milesplit online registration on the meet page.
Unlimited runners per team per race. Runners may only compete in 1 race.
Fees: $50 per varsity team $35 per Middle School/Elementary team $10 per individual
