Trimble County Cross Country Backwoods Invitational
Coaches, we invite you to bring your teams out to the 2018 edition of our invitational. We have been working endlessly to run one of the best meets in the state and have taken no short cuts when it comes to meet quality. After getting feedback 2 years ago, we made the following improvements to the 2017 meet.
For the 2018 meet:
Straighter and longer finish and chute
Finish banner for better finish line visibility
Live race updates/commentary on the loud speakers
Custom wood plaque to individual and team winners. Individual awards for all races through 10th place.
More cooling pools and tents for overheated athletes
Each race is one lap.
Races have been moved up to avoid the heat

Varsity Boys 5k: 9:00am
Varsity Girls 5k: 9:45am (Awards ceremony following girls 5k)
Middle School/Elementary Boys 3k: 10:45am
Middle School/Elementary Girls 3k: 11:15am (Awards ceremony following girls 3k)
Course: The course we have at the Trimble County park is a true cross country course. We have flat grass sections, hills, a small creek crossing, and a long woods section offering heavy shade. Both races start on the youth football field. In the 3K, after a 400-yard section on the fields, the course heads through the woods as it makes its way to the back of the park. 5k runners will also complete a run along the ball fields, include the 3K course and the extra distance is completed towards the end and then wrap back into the same ending as the 3k. This course is marked very well.
Our course is spectator friendly allowing parents and coaches to see about 2/3 of the race from the tent area.
We will once again be striving to have each race course measured as accurately as possible.
Entry: All entries will be done on Ky-Milesplit online registration on the meet page.
Unlimited runners per team per race. Runners may only compete in 1 race.
Fees: $50 per varsity team $35 per Middle School/Elementary team (each gender is a separate team)
$10 per individual

Packet Pickup will be located at the concession building located next to the tents:
Parking: We will have people directing cars into parking spots. The park has 3 gates, we will have the south gate (gate 2) open. Please show your team/parents the maps that will be sent out so they know which gate to use. We will also have signs showing where to go. Gates 1 and 3 will be exit only. PARKING IS $5 PER CAR.
Concessions: We will have full concessions by the tent area.
***We will have a limited number of T-Shirts for sale***
Awards: Team champions in each race will receive a locally made woodworking plaque engraved with Trimble County Backwoods Invitational Team Champion. Individual awards will go 10 deep and will increase based on the amount of teams we have committed.
***We will have water at the finish for all racers as well as pools for overheated runners.***
