Run for the Roses 3200 2016

Louisville, KY
Hosted by Fern Creek

Meet Information

The second annual Run for the Roses 3200 will be held at Fern Creek High School on Derby Day (Saturday, May 7, 2016), beginning at 8:00 AM.

The 3200 will be the only event contested, and the meet should take less than an hour. Heats will be mixed gender, with male and female athletes seeded by time. Last year, we had 48 athletes from 8 schools, with finish times ranging from 10:16 to 18:38.

Currently, there are few late season chances to run a 3200 in cool weather, and even fewer exist for JV athletes. We are looking to create an opportunity for more athletes to run a competitive 3200 on the track and take advantage of the cooler, less humid, and less windy weather available early in the morning.

This is a FREE event with unlimited entries. You are welcome to bring your whole distance group if you would like. The more runners, the deeper the races, and the faster everyone runs. This could be used as a culminating race for your JV athletes or a pre-regional tuneup for your varsity athletes.

ENTRY PROCESS:
1. Email Coach Ames at andrew.ames@jefferson.kyschool.us as soon as possible to declare your intention to compete.
2. The Hy-tek event file is attached. Email your entries to Coach Ames by Thursday, May 5. Since this is a mixed event, there is only one event in the file. Use it to enter both boys and girls.
