Run for the Roses 3200 2017

Louisville, KY
Hosted by Fern Creek

Meet Information

The third annual Run for the Roses 3200m will be held at Fern Creek High School on the morning of Derby Day (Saturday, May 6, 2017), beginning at 8:00 AM.

The 3200 will be the only event contested, and the meet should take less than an hour total. Heats will be mixed gender, with male and female athletes seeded by time. Last year, we had over 60 athletes from 11 schools, with finish times ranging from 10:11 to 18:24.

Currently, there are few late season chances to run a 3200m in cool weather, and even fewer exist for JV athletes. We are looking to create an opportunity for more athletes to run a competitive 3200m race on the track and take advantage of the cooler, less humid, and less windy weather available early in the morning.

This is a FREE event with unlimited entries. You are welcome to bring your whole distance group if you would like. The more runners, the deeper the races, and the faster everyone runs. This could be used as a culminating race for your JV athletes or a pre-regional tuneup for your varsity athletes. Coaches, please be sure to input accurate seed times for your athletes when entering the meet.

ENTRY PROCESS:
1. All Registration will be handled through the meet's Milesplit page. Please email Coach Rob Redies at robert.redies@jefferson.kyschools.us with any additional questions. It is imperative that you enter up-to-date seed times for each athlete who is competing. Thanks, and we look forward to hosting you!
