Coaches, I am proud to invite you to the 29th annual Eastern Relays Track meet. The Eastern Relays draws strong teams and individuals from KY, IN, OH, TN, MO, WV, and IL. I invite you to consider bringing your best to the University of Louisville Cardinal Park for a great track and field meet.

140 National Elite Marks on Milesplit
One of the nations best Mile races saw Brock Baker (TN) run 4:06.77 to edge Jacob Thomson (KY) 4:06.98, Jacob Burcham (WV) 4:08.85, Jacob Dumford (OH) 4:10.45, and 3 others at 4:15 or faster. 14 total ran faster than 4:25.
Girls 3200m- Lauren Wood (OH) 10:35, Nicole Gardner 10:48 (TN), 15 total under 11:20.
Boys 3200m- Sam Wharton (OH) 9:04, Conner Sorrels (IN) 9:05, Grant Nykaza (IL) 9:09, 15 total under 9:20
Deep, tactical Girls Mile- Katherine Receveur (KY)- 5:04, Maggie Allen (KY) 5:09, 12 girls from 5:11-5:16.
Girls Pole Vault- Sarah Bell (IN)- 12 9
Boys Pole Vault- Tim Guthrie (IL) over Brooks Divine (KY) both at 14 6 and 2 others cleared 14
Christian Brothers (MO) claimed 4x100m (42.76), 4x200m (1:28.81), 4x400m (3:23.30) and 1600m SMR (3:31.02)
Boys 200m- James Quick (KY) 21.98, Girls 200m- Parker English (IL)- 24.50
Boys Team Battle included 5 states in the top 5: Christian Brothers (MO) prevailing over Mason (OH), Bryan Station (KY), Houston (TN), and Belleville West (IL).
Girls Team Battle also a 5 state affair with Mason (OH) going away from Rock Bridge (MO), Assumption (KY), Withrow (OH), and Evanston Township (IL)
Entry Standards
All entries must be submitted electronically using the entry portal at http://easternrelays.milesplit.com. It is important that valid results for your team are included on the milesplit database. If any of your meets are not included in the milesplit database please send results to kytrackxc@gmail.com. Teams may enter all athletes who meet the entry marks, and all may score.
Only athletes who have achieved the entry standard in 2014 should be entered; those not meeting the mark will not be allowed to compete (if there is an unusual exception for a highly qualified national class individual please communicate in advance). Open running events are open to all performers, no qualifying standards. Open field events do have an entry standard. All participating teams may enter one relay in each relay event.

An athlete may compete in a maximum of 4 events total between Friday and Saturday.

**Other special events may be added at meet managements discretion.
Saturday Open Events at DuPont Manual- Non-scoring, no awards, hand-timed
Manuals track is one city block from Cardinal Park and they have volunteered to include non-scoring, no award events for athletes who did not qualify for the invitational portion of the meet. All races at Manual will be on a fixed time schedule so athletes and coaches at UofL can plan accordingly. The events are 3200m, 400m, and 800m. The fixed time schedule will be communicated before the meet. These events, along with Fridays open events will provide an opportunity for non-qualifiers, relay legs, etc. to be a part of the meet.
Track Events: All track events are timed finals.
Field Events: Shot put, discus, long jump, and triple jump will be contested with 3 jumps/throws, with the top 9 athletes advancing to finals. During the preliminary round, all marks will be measured in the first round. During the subsequent rounds only marks that exceed the entry standard will be measured.
Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, and Discus will contest an open section (no awards, non-scoring) on Friday night with the Invitational sections on Saturday. All field events, both open and invitational require a qualifying mark.
For the High Jump and Pole Vault the starting height will be the entry standard. Depending on field size we may utilize 5-Alive or multiple pits broken up by entry height.
Entry Fees
Make all checks payable to Eastern High School. There will be no refunds after payments are made. Consider the entry guidelines before entry.
Early Entry Discount Fee (must be at Eastern by April 1st). $90 per boys team entered, $90 per girls team entered.
Early Individual Entry Fee (must be at Eastern by April 1st). $20 per individual; may run up to 4 events.
Entry Fee (deadline for payment is April 21st). $110 per boys team entered, $110 per girls team entered
Individual Entry Fee (deadline for payment is April 21st). $25 per individual, may run up to 4 events.
Collections Fee if you make payment after the deadline of April 21st for an individual or team there will be a $25 collections fee.

Awards for the top 3 relays in each relay event. Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all events
Entry deadline
Online entries should be received by Monday April 21, 2014. Any entries received after the deadline will be charged an additional $25 fee. All athletes (including relay legs) are assigned a unique competitor number. There will be a $5 fee for athletes that lose their bib numbers or that are not included in the entries and need to be assigned a competitor number/bib on meet day.
