Why Swags Fern Creek Relays?
FUN early-season event (Runners love relays!)
UNLIMITED ENTRIES at no additional expense
LABOR DAY WEEKEND OFF for athletes, coaches, and their families

LOW PRESSURE (no team scores kept)
RELAY FORMAT:
Pair up your runners in teams of two.
You may enter an UNLIMITED NUMBER OF RELAY TEAMS.
Partners take turns running a loop of the park (1600 meters for high school, 800 meters for middle school). Each partner completes the loop three times (for a total of 4800 meters for high school and 2400 meters for middle school). Runners slap hands for the exchange, so no batons are needed.
When the second runner completes the loop for the third time, he/she will run through the finish chute.
If you have an odd number of runners, have the extra runner start each leg with a teammate of similar ability.
AWARDS (courtesy of Swags Sports Shoes):
Asics technical running shirts to the top 25 relay pairs in the high school races and the top 10 relay pairs in the middle school races.
ENTRIES:
Entries will be limited to the first 16 boys teams and first 16 girls teams who confirm their intention to compete. Contact Coach Ames at andrew.ames@jefferson.kyschools.us.
E-mail your roster (in Word or Excel format) to Coach Ames by Saturday, August 24.
The entry fee is $50.00 per high school team and $25.00 per middle school team (boys and girls teams from the same school are considered separate teams). Make checks payable to FERN CREEK CROSS COUNTRY. You may bring your check or cash to the meet or mail it to Andy Ames, Fern Creek High School, Louisville, KY, 40291.
To make your job a little easier, you may bring your pairings to the meet.
