Girls Championship

"Going for the Win"

Class A #1 Karly Gawarecki begins her journey towards a possible state championship on Saturday in Bardstown.  She is the easy pick to win in this one as she is undefeated against her regional competition except one of her teammates.

"Team Hunt"

This race is all Holy Cross as well.  The Cougars have Gawarecki up front at #1 and will dominate the top 10 after that.  Mid-season addition Makenzie Bolus helped to strengthen up their pack including pulling off a victory at the Tom Williams Invitational on October 25th.  She won with a 21:32 on the regional course that day.

The race for second is between Collegiate and Kentucky Country Day.  Collegiate has Colleen Orr going for second herself to help lower the team score.  KCD needs their #1 & 2 Sarah Zappone and Malorie Eisenbrei to break up the Holy Cross pack to sneak it out over Collegiate.

Boys Championship

"Going for the Win"

In what has to be a shocking statement...... Jacob Thomson (Holy Cross) is the favorite to win this race. The nationally Top 10 ranked runner will start his journey towards Foot Locker Nationals on Saturday.  He will cruise to the win, which is really saying something as he is racing against Class A #2 Jonathan Taylor.

"Team Hunt"

Scoring the first position helps and Holy Cross starts out that way giving them the advantage over DeSales.  The trio of Thomson, Chase McCauley, and Tyler McCauley will give them the win.  DeSales will go after second with a pack that is tight and will fill up the spots 8th-18th.  Matt Graven leads the way, the more he moves up the better for the team.  The fight for third is between Bardstown and Collegiate.  Each has a strong #1, Bardstown with Josh Price and Collegiate with Matt Bode.  Either way on the team placing, these two squads will move on to Lexington next week.
