My NBIN Experience: Sam Lewis (St. Xavier)
At first I was frustrated. I was sitting in the Louisville airport anxiously awaiting my flight to New York City for New Balance Indoor Nationals. My plane was late, and it was ruining everything I had planned out. My flight was going to leave at 5:30, I was going to arrive in New York at 7:30, and get to the hotel at 8:00, with time to relax and watch the U of L Marquette game. While this didn’t go to plan (My plane left at 7:30), I quickly learned that the delay was all for good. As I began my descent into LaGuardia, I got a front row seat to the world famous lights of New York City. I was amazed at how many things I saw in pictures that I could easily recognize as I descended lower into the city. I had a perfect view of historic buildings like The Empire State building and Madison Square Garden. Also, right as I left the plane, I was greeted with news that U of L had beaten Marquette.
