Nine invitationals across the state highlight the fourth weekend of the season.
The E.G. Plummer Invitational at Danville Admiral Stadium will follow the Centre College XC Invitational Saturday morning. Twenty schools will compete led by a tough girls team battle between Woodford County, coming off a strong performance at the Henry Clay Invitational, and Rockcastle County. Henry Clay with Antonio Marchi coming off a second place finishes at their own invitation top the boys field.
Over 1200 athletes from 42 schools will compete at the Grant County Invitational, site of the Class A Region 3 and Class AAA Region 4 meets in November. Top girls teams include #1 Highlands, Scott, St. Henry, Lloyd, Grant County and Trimble County. Kortni Dukes of Scott, Katie Alcorn of Conner and Jenna Siemer of St. Henry head the girls field. Highlands, Scott, Lloyd, and Covington Catholic lead the boys with Scott's Blake Askin the favorite.
11th Annual "Beast of the East" at Owsley County will feature the best in Eastern Kentucky on a tough course.
The Warren Central Dragon Invitational will have Pulaski County as the favorite with PC's Patrick Jenkins and Lakia Sneed favored to take the individual titles.
Louisville area schools will compete at either the Male High Invitational at Joe Creason Park or the North Oldham "Rumble in the Jungle" at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve.
Owensboro High School will host fifteen schools at Yellow Creek Park. Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic, St. Mary, and Apollo head both fields. Other western Kentucky teams will either compete at the Kenwood Classic in Clarksville, Tennessee and Caldwell County will host its Blackpatch Invitational.
