Interview with Daniel Murner

) What are your goals for the 2005 Cross Country Season?

I want my Senior year to be a year that allows me to look back at my high school career and be completely satisfied.

2) How did it feel to win a state championship last year?

Winning the state championship was my goal throughout the year. After all of the hard work I put in during the season, accomplishing that goal was one of the greatest thrills I have ever experienced.

3) How does it feel to not be able to defend your state title?

It is harder to stay on top than it is to get there. I am glad for the fresh beginning and for the new challenges that have been given to me.

4) Do you like the challenge of running in AAA this season?

Shooting for what some people think is impossible is much greater fuel than repeating something I have already done. Class AAA is where I want to be and where our team wants to be.

5) What do you think about South Oldham\'s chances this season?

Our team believes in our ability to compete. We will have a good season.

6) What got you started with cross country?

I wanted to try something new in middle school. I chose running because it would help me get in shape for my other sports.

7) Are there any races in particular you are looking foward to this season?

This year will be my sixth year racing at the horse park. This course is where I won my first race, and where I won my state championship. It is my favorite course. I look forward to our races here.
