VOTE: KY Girls Performance of the Week (04/06 - 04/12)

KY Girls Performance of the Week (04/06 - 04/12)

With the rain now subsided, KY track and field can fully get under way. We saw epic performances across a ton of different meets as we make our way towards the Eastern Relays which you can catch live on Milesplit. For now though, let's celebrate what the athletes accomplished this week!

Grace Bethel, Male

Grace Bethel was electric on the track, sprinting her way to a 100m/200m double victory with times of 12.21 and 24.16 (State #1). Her speed not only earned her the top spot in both races at the Johnny Conn Invitational, but also stamped her name as a top sprinter to watch heading into championship season.

Lily Parke, Beechwood

At the same meet, Lily Parke showed tremendous range and guts with a middle-distance double, clocking 2:19.97 in the 800m and 5:00.05 in the 1600m. The 1600m time has likely booked her ticket to the Kentucky Dream Mile which will feature the 16 best Milers in the State.

Lexi Young, Mason County

Lexi Young delivered a standout performance at the AJ's Heart of the Bluegrass with a 5-8 high jump (State #1) and a 17-9.25 long jump. Young will definitely be looking to win multiple State Championships this season in Class 2A.

Bailey Howard, George Rogers Clark

Pole vault and triple jump might not always get the headlines, but Bailey Howard made sure they did this week. The GRC athlete cleared 12-0 in the pole vault and bounded out to 34-11 in the triple jump. The 12 foot Pole vault mark is the top mark in the State this season.

Who do you think had the Performance of the Week?
