Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
Hunter Hughes, Harlan County (Kentucky): Won the shot put at the Williamsburg High School SEKC with a throw of 71-7, topping a field of 23 competitors. The sophomore's mark ranks him as the top underclassman in Kentucky in the event.
Mason Lehn, Highlands (Kentucky): Jumped 24-0 to win the long jump at the NKAC Division I Championships, clearing the field by taking first among 10 competitors. The freshman leads all first-year athletes in Kentucky in the long jump this season.
Vinnie Lane, Dixie Heights (Kentucky): Clocked 10.78 in the 100 meters to capture first place at the Bishop Brossart Gold Medal Meet, winning a 10-man field.
Wyatt Hudson, Russell County (Kentucky): Threw 161-10 in the discus to place second among 15 competitors at KOVCCT. The junior ranks third among his grade in Kentucky in the event.
Kaden John, Frederick Douglass (Kentucky): Swept the sprints and cleared 6-4 in the high jump at the FCPS Championships. He won the 200 meters in 21.96, took the 100 meters in 10.85, and captured the high jump title. The junior leads Kentucky in both the 200 meters and high jump for his grade, while ranking second among juniors statewide in the 100 meters.
