This past weekend, Assumption ran the fastest 3200 Meter Relay time in Kentucky state history for any high school girls' team during indoor or outdoor season.
The ladies pulled off a time of 9:08.30 to win at Eastern Indoors. The line-up was Leah Penick (2:20), Julia Schmitt (2:16), Mabel George (2:19) and anchor leg Reagan Gilmore (2:15.)
The previous school record of 9:12.16 was set last June at the KHSAA Class 3A State Championship. Their time currently ranks #6 in the USA. Congratulations to the Rockets!!!
Lexington Catholic's girls finished 2nd with a 9:21.01 at Eastern which brings them in at #2 All-time for indoor in Kentucky. The relay was made up of Joanna Bryant, Caroline Beiting, Cate Conklin, and Abigail Turner.
On the boy's side, Trinity (Louisville) ran the fastest KY time in indoor history with a 8:07.01. The relay members were Sullivan Yaden, Eli Oetken, Jake Hagan, and Ayden Taylor. They had splits of 2:03, 2:05, 2:01, and 1:58. The previous indoor state best was St. Xavier with a 8:07.88 from 2013.
