In this week's edition, I wanted to take a look at the Top 10 teams from the Cross-Country State Championships across every class this season to get a better understanding of the differences between them, however, I wanted to take it a step further, so I compiled the Top 7 athletes of All-Time from each of the teams and made a massive Cross Country Meet out of it.
Before we get into that, however, I wanted to break it down on a class-by-class basis. We will Start with Class 3A.

As you can see here, St. Xavier nearly perfect scores the All-Time 3A meet with 4 of the Top 5 and 6 of the Top 10 putting their official score at 20 points. An often overlooked and underappreciated powerhouse, Madisonville North-Hopkins scored 97 points to finish 3rd. Another note is that St. Xavier's team average is 15:03, a time that only University of Kentucky athlete Jackson Watts has beaten among athletes that did not attend St. Xavier.

As you can see here, North Oldham dominates the All time Class 2A Cross Country Meet winning by 51 points making their upcoming move into Class 3A enticing. Hopefully, North Oldham can emerge as a challenger to St. Xavier who have had a strangle hold of Class 3A for most of the 1990's and into the 2000's. On the individual side of things, something to note are the Thomas Nelson standouts in 1st and 4th place in Lane Hoyes and RIku Sugie. Hoyes broke the State 5000m record last track season posting a 14:34. Sugie, on the other hand, is one of the best Sophomores in the nation and will be looking to potentially climb up into the top spot on this list as he finishes his High School career.
Last but not least is Class 1A. Class 1A was dominated by Holy Cross (Louisville) throughout the 2000's and 2010's being coached by St. Xavier great, Joseph Buechler. The Cougars All-Time team is lead by 2023 US Half Marathon Champion Jacob Thomson and Eastern Kentucky University standout, Keeton Thornsberry.

From this, you can see how Class 1A has been dominated by a handful of schools with 4 below 100 points. This is largely do to the lack of depth in most of the Class 1A schools, so when a Class 1A school has continued success, they tend to do better on the All-time rankings.
