When the 2021 KHSAA state champions were crowned, Lexington Catholic ran away with the team title (77-132) but when you look even further, they did it with a young nucleus in top three runners, Caroline Beiting (9th grade), Cate Conklin (10th grade), and Joanna Bryant (8th grade). Logic would follow that 2022 and beyond are going to be fruitful for the Knights and you would be correct.

Fast forward to the 2022 KHSAA State Championships and once again Lexington Catholic is the top team (64-100) over runner-up Scott. Same three faces leading the charge but in a different order as Conklin bested Beiting by a single place this year. The trend does not seem to be ending anytime soon as these three will be joined by their sophomore fifth runner, Cecilia Lowry, and junior sixth runner, Caitlyn Kelley, in 2023 to make it a three-peat. Knowing their head coach, Bernie Madigan, she will have the girls ready to roll this coming track season as well as October 2023.
