RYAN EATON/JUSTIN HOUSE DUEL IN THE 1600m AT STATE
At the 2009 Kentucky State Track Meet an epic showdown happened in the Class AAA Boys 1600m Championship between defending champion Ryan Eaton of Greenwood and Justin House of Apollo. Eaton, a junior was undefeated all season against Kentucky foes at the distance and was able to hold off the super sophomore House for the victory. Eaton’s winning time was 4:18.39 with House as the runner-up in 4:18.60. The was a season best for Eaton and almost a six second PR for House. The picture below shows the difference at the line.

JAMES BROWN AND JACOB THOMSON WIN AT FOOT LOCKER SOUTH
The 2009 Foot Locker South Regional was good for the state of Kentucky as two of our own left with victories in the Freshmen and Sophomore Championships. The day started with a boom as Holy Cross’s Jacob Thomson declared himself the top freshmen in the entire South winning in a personal best time of 16:11. Then Bell County’s James Brown kept it going with a victory in the sophomore race in a 15:50. These great performances will hopefully lead to great things at the 2011 and 2012 Foot Locker South Championships which includes a trip to San Diego for one of them.
