Well...I didn't do too hot on this one. I wish I could find the tweets, but there was definitely someone sub-tweeting me the whole season. Every once in a while, I would see a tweet from Corbin or a runner from Corbin where they talked about being underestimated, but every time I just completely missed it. Boyd County all season seemed like the team to beat, but when Corbin whooped some big name schools, as well as Boyd Co. at Greater Louisville I finally came to my senses. Either way, the Corbin boys killed this season unlike I did with my 2A boys predictions.
Here's my time to brag though, one thing I'm pretty proud of is my Ryan Maynard pick to win state. He had a really tough regular season not performing to the capabilities that we saw from him last year, but someone told me he was actually playing soccer for Taylor County the whole season! When he started clicking off some quick times again close to the end of the season I realized soccer was over and he was finally able to focus his efforts to XC. He went on to win his regional in convincing fashion and entered state as a runner up last year looking for some redemption. He didn't quite live up to my #2 overall returning individual label, but definitely showed up on the big stage when it mattered. Big things still to come for Maynard.
