Henry Clay Junior Jaron Brooks Swept the High Jump National Championships for 2015 this past weekend. He popped off a new PR of 7-01.50 to win Outdoor Nationals, he won New Balance Indoor Nationals this past March. His victory was by four inches bettering his opponents by two heights.
This track season saw Brooks become the first Kentucky HS ever to go over 7-00, a mark he has since done three additional times. Last week he traveled to Cuba to compete in the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational where to won the High Jump at 6-11.50.
He won three KY State Class AAA titles (HJ, TJ, LJ) in May helping his team to the State Team Championship.
His regional foe Tequan Claitt (Bryan Station) finished 4th overall in the High Jump against Brooks hitting 6-09.50.
