Former St. X/Villanova Star Bobby Curtis 9th Overall, Top American at Chicago Marathon

 

2003 St. Xavier graduate Bobby Curtis has finished as the top American today at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.  He ran a time of 2:11:20 for the world famous 26.2 mile event.

Curtis is one of the best Kentucky high school XC/track athletes ever, he finished 3rd overall at Foot Locker Nationals in 2002.  He still holds the #1 Kentucky All-Time mark in the 3200m Run with a 8:48.39.  He went on to win the 5000m Run NCAA Division 1 National Championship in track while at  Villanova University.  Also while at Villanova he became the 1st Kentuckian ever to ran a sub 4 mile with a 3:57.20.

Former University of Louisville star Wesley Korir finished directly in front of Curtis in 8th overall with a 2:11:09
