Former Butler great Tretez Kinnaird ran a 1:47.99 Saturday in Lexington at the Kentucky Relays. Let me repeat that again 1:47.99. The best HS 800m runner in Kentucky history just put the NCAA ranks on notice that he will be one to watch out for at Indiana University as well. Just a freshman, he has already earned All-American honors as a member of the IU Distance Medley Relay during the 2014 Indoor Season.
IU Press Release Stated:
Kinnaird’s time is the fourth best in school history and 10th fastest in the NCAA this season. Kinnaird is the first Hoosier to run under 1:48 since Keith Allen in 1988.
Congrats Tretez!!
