Interview with Valerie Thomas

1. Two goals for XC season?

The goal I would most like to reach would be that my team won a State Championship this year. Of course it would be even more amazing if my team did that and I also finished in 1st place as an individual.

2. What did it feel like to win state last season?

It was the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me and I no longer felt that the entire season had been wasted by an injury.

3. Was there any extra satisfaction because you came back from injury to win?

I wasn\'t expected to win which made the victory even better because I got to shock everyone.

4. Describe Trimble County as a team?

Our team is extremely close! We all try to leave our calendars open for Saturday nights so that we can all go catch a movie, go bowling, or visit a Haunted House. We\'re like a second family for each other.

5. Favorite Course? Why?

The Trimble County course because it\'s a tough course that prepares you for everything else!

6. Favorite Race? Why?

The state race at the Kentucky Horse Park is always the best race of the season! You have to work really hard to get there and when you do, you get to see the results of your hard work and it really pays off.

7. Favorite Musician?

I love Simple Plan, Gavin DeGraw, and Josh Thompson but nothing beats our team\'s \"pump up\" CD which includes songs like Eye of the Tiger and Kung fu Fighting.

8. Favorite Food?

I\'m actually a bit of a sweets freak but during the season I have to cut a lot of that out and stick to pasta!
