The 2017 Greater Louisville Classic promises to be one ofthe best cross country meets in this part of the country. Ranging from top NCAAaction all the way to amazing elementary athletes with every age in between, the meet will provide a great weekend of XC action!

Many top college teams will use the meet as a course previewfor the NCAA D1 National Championship, set to be hosted at Tom Sawyer Park in2017.

We are expecting a great field of high school and middle school talentfrom around Kentucky and surrounding states. The meet boasts over 2700 collegiate entries from 31 statesand Canada.

*Elementary Update* Elementary races will start/finish at the"main" start and finish line (not the Lax fields we've used in thepast), see maps linked below.

Elementary Update: Coaches, due to a change from the Park Administration we have been required to update our elementary courses. I apologize for the late notice on thechange. We will be using the typicalstart and finish area used in the college, high school, and middle school (notthe Lacrosse Fields we used in the past).

Note that we have also made a slight adjustment to our 5th and Underracing schedule as explained below.

Friday, September 29th Elementary Schedule:

  • 5:00pm Boys 3rd Grade and Under 2k (top 10)
  • 5:20pm Girls 3rd Grade and Under 2k (top 10)
  • 5:40pm Co-Ed 3rd Grade and Under 2k (open)

Coaches can choose which 10 runners report to the line for the top 10 race, any runner with a competitor number may run in either the top10 or open race at the coaches discretion.

*Revision to Elementary 5th and Under Schedule*

*Coaches, note that our Elementary 5th and Under schedule has been revised slightly. Our revised3k course will make it more difficult to run races every 20 minutes. However, our new course has a much wider starting area and starts with a very longstraight stretch allowing us to have a larger field. There will no longer be separate top 10 andopen races for 5th and Under.

  • 6:00pm Boys 5th Grade and Under 3k (top 10 & open)
  • 6:30pm Girls 5th Grade and Under 3k (top 10 & open)

  • Awards: 7:15pm (or after the conclusion of the final race)
