Though the State Meet is over a month away, it is the perfect time to start looking at the team rankings and leaderboards for each and every classification.
Though Weini Kelati may be done with her eligibility this season, she is still listed as a sophomore and right behind her is Sophia Jantomaso who isn't allowed to compete against any VHSL athletes! As you can see this is quite the list of star athletes and one to take a look at. Northcutt, following in her brother's footsteps is our leading freshman.
Check out the top 200 Boy's Underclassmen Rankings here. This list includes sophomores and under and is led by Abingdon's Karl Thiessen right at 16:00. He has close company with Northcutt who led for most of their freshman campaign. The top freshman and only one to break inside the top 20 is Timothy Grider of Cave Spring at 5th.
Unfortunately due to a lot of rain hitting both Virginia and North Carolina this weekend we had no major invitationals run this week. This included the canceling of both Great American and Octoberfest, some of the biggest and best meets of the season. Because of these meets not happening we have some major questions we want answers to still and we also want your opinion on them!
Out in Iowa the state association recently had a very interesting question asked of them. When high school XC runner, Tyler Gerdts with his family and the school's AD, came to the association requesting to have Tyler's dog, Hugo, be allowed to run with the team.

This is quite the list and maybe the last list for Andrew Hunter to rule over. He passed Alan Webb last year but still has McGorty to catch, will the rain hamper him from doing this? Check out the rest of the 200 and it will take a while looking at it to find someone who has not won a state title of some sorts and also performed very well at this huge meet.
It is very unfortunate for MileStat to have to announce that the 2015 Great American XC Festival has officially been cancelled
Pending the weather holds out and the Great American XC Festival goes on through the wind and rain, we should get a real good showing of the top teams in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

What a meet! In its' first year eve, the RVA Relays did not disappoint putting on one of the best relay style meets we have seen in years. The featured races were show stoppers as well featuring top talent from all 6 classifications and VISAA.

Finally the time has arrive for the first annual RVA Relays presented by MileStat.com. Despite the meet being in its first year, it has garnered 30+ teams and well over 800 athletes! It will not only be the largest invitational in Virginia this weekend but also the most hype as well.
