The 1st Annual Murray Invitational was held yesterday on the estate of Chuck Jones, a local businessman. The picturesque course is ideal for cross country with many at the meet commenting how it very similar to the old campground course at the Kentucky Horse Park. The consisted of two varsity competitions and two middle school races with teams from the local area and a few outsiders.

The Mad Marshal Dash was held at Marshall County High School on Thursday night and it was a very interesting experience. The race was only a 3200m, which is not the odd part. It had two different start lines, with complete teams drawing to start at either the A or B line. Each starting line ran a different first part of the race. At the 3/4 mile point in the race, the two courses merged together and finished at the same point.
Going into the second weekend of this young season brings the annual Madisonville North Hopkins Invitational. This is the first meet annually that brings together teams from the Paducah area all the way up to Grayson County which is almost to Elizabethtown.
The boys of Daviess County and Apollo will battle it out once again for the Class AAA Region 1 team title. Daviess County's Whitney O'Bryan and Muhlenberg County's Chase Geary are easy favorites to win.
The Heath Pirate Invitational was held in Paducah, Kentucky tonight. There was a last minute change in scheduling due to the newest addition to Heath Coach Kris Durfee family. Congratulations, Kris and Vanessa. (Pictured: Carlisle County freshman Noah Garnett)
