IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: MUST READ

In March 2005, KYtrackXC.com was launched. In its beginnings, the site provided coverage of Kentucky’s High School Outdoor season and progressed into Cross Country and the 2006 Indoor season. At that time, only high school results were part of the site. Within the past two years, college and middle school results have been added, along with video, pictures, and more comprehensive middle school, high school, and college rankings.

Throughout this time of growth, I have been pleasantly overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of support from coaches, athletes, parents, and fans all over the state. KYtrackXC.com currently has over 1,400 registered users and consistently ranks 6th in page hits of the 21 active states in the Milesplit.us network.

With that being said, KYtrackXC.com will become a subscription-based website beginning April 1, 2008. Please continue to read for more details.

Much of KYtrackXC.com will remain free, including the state and national forums, results (post-1998), press releases from colleges, companies, etc., meet pages, team pages, training blogs, meet calendar, video, and user-submitted pictures.

ALL automated rankings will be restricted for subscribers only, along with individual runner’s pages, feature articles, and photographs taken at meets by KYtrackXC.com. Subscribers will have access to the most detailed track and cross country rankings for the state of Kentucky. These rankings include advanced search features such as state, class, regional, and by zip code. Subscribers will also have access to all other subscription sites on the MileSplit Network.

Subscriptions are available in 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year increments. The cost for each of these time periods is $12, $15, and $25, respectively. Subscriptions may be obtained online via PayPal, by mailing a check, or by Purchase Order Number. (A subscription link will be added on the main menu bar closer to April 1 and will provide more payment details.) Link to obtain a subscription

By now, I am sure you are asking yourself why this decision been made at this point. A tremendous amount of time and effort is put into KYtrackXC.com by myself (and a lot of effort by my wife to not comment on all the time I spend with the site hahaha). Since 2005, not only has the website evolved but so has my life. I have gone from a student with plenty of time on my hands to a full-time teacher, head coach, and, most importantly, father. Running KYtrackXC.com remains a significant part of my life that I want to continue because I enjoy.

The funds I hope to raise from subscriptions will go toward travel costs, new equipment (i.e. digital camera and accessories, wireless Internet for on-site coverage), and other miscellaneous expenses.

Again, I appreciate the support over the years and hope to continue to provide the most up-to-date and accurate coverage of middle school, high school, and college cross country and track in the state of Kentucky.

Informative Q&A

What exactly do I gain from subscribing?

First, you are supporting the sport you love. Subscribers have access to the most accurate set of rankings for cross country and track, along with the ability to sort these rankings by state, class, region, grade, zip code and more. Additionally, subscribers have access to feature articles, runner’s pages, results pre-1998, pictures, and all subscription-based sites within the MileSplit Network.

Are results prior to 1998 free?

No. Results prior to 1998 are subscription only. These results are online exclusively at KYtrackXC.com. Each set of results was manually inputted by myself over the course of the last few years.

What pictures are free?

Any photos submitted to the website by a user (coach, parent, etc.) are FREE and will remain free. Photos taken by KYtrackXC.com (i.e. me or my wife) are subscriber-only.

Why is all video free?

KYtrackXC.com video is sponsored by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association, allowing it to be free to ALL users.

When and how can I pay for my subscription?

A link will be added by April 1 to the main menu bar to the Subscription webpage. Here, you can pay by Paypal or receive instructions for paying by mail or Purchase Order.

So, since I am a coach, I can pay by Purchase Order?

For the most part, yes. KYtrackXC.com should be considered a legitimate coaching/scouting tool as it provides the most complete detailing of rankings and results for the state.

What if I contribute an article or an interview, and I am not a current subscriber?

You will be granted a temporary subscription as a thank you for your contribution to the website.

OK, so should I subscribe or not?

YES! Support the sport!
