Speaking of super-sophomores, Rachel McArthur dueled it out to the line to win her first track state title by running #7 all-time 10:19.90 in the 6A 3200m run. She did so by besting Kate Murphy who led for nearly the whole race until 300m to go when Rachel McArthur took the lead and held on at the line. She was also the runner-up in the 1600 and 4x800.

Taking home the victory though in the 1600m was Kate who ran 4:51.67 while negative splitting the entire second half. It was not a huge surprise seeing her run away with this title after she fell just short of winning the 3200m run when she finished just .04 seconds away from winning. Her time though ranks #8 all-time (10:19.94).
