Due to scheduling both at Sportsbackers Stadium and at The University of Richmond we unfortunately have to announce that the 2015 installment of this great meet has been cancelled. We tried everything we could to get this meet to work but unfortunately we could not get an elite venue for this great invitational. We want to thank everyone that would have attended this year and all the coaches, fans, parents, athletes, and administrators who have shown us nothing but love and support since our first invitational in 2009.
In a year that has been stricken with cancellations beyond count we are not happy to be just another cancelled meet. We also are not happy that we are not able to bring to you an elite field of athletes in Virginia and a great steeple chase competition too. We had high goals for the athletes and coverage of this year's meet and are right there with you wishing we could have made it happen.
All that being said, we are happy to announce our plans for the 2016 MileStat.com Elite Track Classic is tentatively planning to move the meet to a bigger and better venue, The University of Richmond! Save the date now, April 29th and 30th, and get ready for a huge meet (run like clockwork) and maybe a few steeple chase bloopers!
The University of Richmond, and especially their coaching staff, is more then enthused to be a part of this meet and host one of the largest invitationals in the entire state. Not only will the management be excited but you should be as well. U of R has one of the best facilities, coupled with ample parking and seating, and one of the fastest tracks in the state. Having our invitational at this great venue will no doubt bring our meet to a whole new level!
Once again, we regret that we are unable to host the 2015 invitational but hope that you take comfort in knowing that Virginia will be well covered that weekend at other invitationals and will also be covered with a live stream at the 2015 Penn Relays on MileSplit.
