These regions were decided based upon their previous finishes at State and the current projections for who will be racing for each team this season. I’ve tried to use as much empirical data as possible and have compared all regions based on their CURRENT classifications.

Just in case anyone missed it, the KHSAA passed a new realignment in late July moving 30 schools around to different classes and even a few to new regions. The bulk of the movement centered around Class AA (lost 25, added 11.) Let's take a look at how those changes actually affect the outlook on the season.
This is taking the 3200m Run times from track in 2013 and scoring them as a XC race with only returners. Since the 3200m is not run by all distance runners I scored it only using four runners.

Baylee Shofner just graduated from Green County High School after finishing sixth in the 2012 Class A 800m Run at the Kentucky State Track Meet. She was also 9th overall in the Class A Kentucky State Cross Country Meet last fall.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's track and field team has signed Green County High School state-champion Raegan Deaton to an NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Wednesday.

Thirty-six teams (over 1000 runners) have entered this year’s Gatorland Run at Phil Moore Park, hosted by Greenwood High School. Two undefeated runners will square off in the Boys Varsity race: Ryan Eaton (Greenwood) and James Maglasang (St. Mary).
The Tom McDowell Cross-Country Invitational, hosted by Campbellsville University, will be held on Saturday, August 1st in Greensburg, KY. The first year meet will feature both a high school and college division.
